THANK YOU FOR SUBSCRIBING
As an HR professional with Corner Table Restaurant Group, my focus on talent acquisition, HR administration, and employee relations is underpinned by a rich history of harnessing technology. Reflecting on my journey, a standout moment was when I incorporated the human capital management (HCM) tool, Paycor while working with the rapidly expanding What If Syndicate.
Before introducing Paycor in 2015, the task of onboarding nearly 600 employees within eight months seemed monumental. Our then HR and payroll provider couldn't keep up with our needs. Filing new hire paperwork alone was consuming twenty hours a week. Crucial documents were often misplaced in our outdated filing system, and updating personnel data was a herculean task. Their lackluster customer service left us scrambling in times of need.
The introduction of Paycor was a game-changer. The onboarding process was streamlined, reducing the time spent from twenty hours a week to just six. Instead of drowning in paperwork on their first day, new hires were now signing essential documents, setting up direct deposits, and engaging with peers from the get-go.
Beyond just onboarding, Paycor offered comprehensive solutions that revolutionized our HR processes. It enabled employees to update their information, access training materials, and manage their benefits, cutting down on administrative tasks. With centralized data storage, our HR team could easily access all employee information, ensuring we remained compliant with workplace laws and regulations.

In addition, the HRMS and recruitment software significantly contributed to maintaining compliance with legal requirements. It automated workflows, reducing the risk of human error and ensuring our adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, including tasks such as payroll processing, benefits enrollment, and employee administration.
Paycor's software kept up-to-date with the latest regulatory changes, such as new tax laws or alterations to employment eligibility verification requirements. This provided us with the assurance that we were remaining compliant with the most recent regulations, even without an in-house legal or compliance team.
The platform also offered compliance reporting and analytics, providing real-time data on potential compliance-related issues. This feature was instrumental in identifying areas of non-compliance early and taking corrective actions, helping us to avoid fines, penalties, and lawsuits.
The transformation this HR Tech facilitated was indisputable. It not only improved our HR operations but also significantly enhanced the candidate experience, reflecting our company culture and attracting a diverse pool of applicants. The tool also enabled more effective talent management, increasing visibility and accessibility to candidate information.
At Corner Table Restaurant Group, we are gearing up to implement a new applicant tracking software for our team. As I look ahead, I carry with me the valuable lessons learned from the Paycor experience. The automation and simplification of routine tasks, the democratization of HR processes with self-service, the ease of regulatory compliance, and the overall increased productivity reaffirm my belief in the transformative power of HRMS and recruitment software.
My experience underlines that these tools aren't just a matter of convenience – they are integral for organizations seeking to streamline their HR processes, improve employee engagement, and ultimately achieve better business outcomes. As HR professionals, we should continuously look to leverage technology to meet our objectives, just as Paycor was an essential partner in our growth strategy at What If Syndicate.
HR technology is more than just a tool; it's an ally in achieving business success. As I forge ahead in my career with Corner Table Restaurant Group, I am more convinced than ever of the potential of HRMS and recruitment software to transform HR processes and drive business success.
